About UpTheMind

What is UpTheMind?

UpTheMind is an AI learning platform built primarily for students with dyslexia. It helps you learn from textbooks using voice interaction, AI explanations and adaptive flashcards — you upload a PDF, select the parts that matter, listen to them instead of reading, and turn them into flashcards with one click. UpTheMind is developed by Celaeno Industry s.r.o. and available at upthemind.io.

Who is UpTheMind for?

UpTheMind is designed for anyone who learns better by listening, speaking and associating instead of reading long texts: students with dyslexia or ADHD, language learners, university students with heavy reading loads, and busy professionals.

Is UpTheMind only for people with dyslexia?

No. UpTheMind was inspired by dyslexia — its founder has it — but it works for everyone. If reading long texts is slow, tiring or simply not how you remember best, UpTheMind gives you an audio-first, conversation-based way to study.

Why was UpTheMind created?

UpTheMind was created by Josef Boudnik, a helicopter pilot with dyslexia and dysgraphia. While studying for his commercial pilot theory, hours of reading and text-heavy tests didn't work for him — so he built a tool that lets you study by listening, speaking and making associations instead. What started as a personal solution became a platform for everyone who learns differently.

Who is behind UpTheMind?

UpTheMind is operated by Celaeno Industry s.r.o., a company based in the Czech Republic (EU). It was founded by Josef Boudnik, a pilot and software developer with dyslexia.

How it works & features

How does UpTheMind work?

You upload a PDF — a textbook, notes or scripts — and select the parts you need. UpTheMind reads your selection aloud with AI voices, answers your questions by voice or text, and turns selected text into flashcards with one click. Spaced repetition then helps you remember what you learned.

What study materials can I upload?

Any PDF: textbooks, lecture notes, scripts or your own documents. You choose what to study — select a paragraph, a page or a whole chapter and work with just that part.

How are flashcards created?

Select any text in your material and click once — AI turns it into flashcards for you. The cards then go into a spaced-repetition system that schedules reviews at the right time and adds example sentences so you don't just memorize blindly.

Can I ask the AI questions about my materials?

Yes. Whenever something is unclear, you can ask the AI tutor by voice or text and get an instant explanation based on what you're studying.

Which languages does UpTheMind support?

The app and AI work in English, Czech, Spanish and German. UpTheMind is also great for learning foreign-language vocabulary with example sentences and a daily study plan.

Do I need to install anything?

No installation is needed. UpTheMind runs in your web browser at go.upthemind.io — on a computer, tablet or phone. Just log in and study.

Pricing & free trial

How does the 21-day free trial work?

How much does UpTheMind cost?

UpTheMind offers a monthly and a yearly subscription — the yearly plan saves about 35%. Prices are shown in your local currency in the pricing section of the homepage, and the first 500 users get a permanent founder's discount with the code FOUNDER.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled anytime and you won't be charged for the next period. You'll also receive a reminder before every renewal.

Do you offer plans for schools and organizations?

Yes. Schools, universities and companies get volume licensing, an admin dashboard, SSO, onboarding and dedicated support. See the page for organizations or write to info@upthemind.io.

Privacy & data

How do you handle my data and privacy?

UpTheMind is operated from the EU and complies with GDPR. We don't sell your data and we don't run ad tracking. A Data Processing Agreement is available for organizations, and details are in our Privacy Policy.

Are my study materials private?

Yes. Your uploaded materials and notes are stored in your personal account and only you have access to them. They are used solely for your own studying and are never shared with other users.

How does UpTheMind use AI on my content?

When you ask UpTheMind to read a text aloud, explain it or create flashcards, the selected text is processed by AI models to generate that output. You stay in control of what you select and process, and the outputs are intended for your personal use.
